De Amerikaans band fun. scoort een grote hit met hun single We Are Young featuring Janelle Monáe. We Are Young is afkomstig van het album Some Nights. In de US kwam het album op #2 van de albumcharts binnen. Some Nights is geproduceerd door Jeff Bhasker (Kanye West, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Beyonce). Jeff left a huge imprint in our brains, vertelt Andrew Dost, and for me at least, made me realize all over again that songs are special, and that they deserve to sound unique. His palette of sounds is huge.
Some Nights is het tweede album van fun. na hun debuutalbum Aim And Ignite (2009). Some Nights has a common theme of guilt and depression and laying everything on the table, sure, but there's always some sort light at the end of the tunnel, vertelt frontman Nate. That's what this album is striving for, to say something along the lines of 'Okay, I found that light, but it's just led me to another situation where I need to find the light again.'
